Having been at the center of a proposed student housing project for several years, the Seville Lot is now part of an apartments project of 100 million. The Project is led by Développements Immobiliers Seville, a conglomerate formed for the occasion by Prével (Lofts Imperial, The Lowney) and Claridge Investments.
Much of the buildings will likely be destroyed before the start of construction scheduled for fall 2010. The first completed appartements are projected for 2012.
Lot includes the Seville Theatre (facade) , closed for many years and many buildings barricaded for more than 5 years. This sector of Sainte-Catherine has been badly hit by the change of use of the Montreal Forum. The building is also adjacent to the Pepsi Forum.
