Alcan Headquarter

This building is part of the 'Maison Alcan', headquarters of the Canadian aluminum company recently bought by Spanish Rio Tinto. This is the modern part of the complex.

Alcan has shown an exemplary concern of Montreal's heritage in the design of its administrative center. The company integrated Sherbrooke Street historical buildings in the new construction to preserve the architectural heritage of an old house and the former Berkeley Hotel, all gathered in a open space located behind historic facades providing a discreet presence without compromising on total office space needed by the corporation.

Building is also distinguished by its aluminum coating.
