From Judith Jasmin and Hubert Aquin pavilion construction, linked both to the Montreal Metro to the construction of the Ilôt Voyageur currently underway, this institution of knowledge has never stopped growing.
More recently the Université du Québec à Montréal has focused on property acquisition and construction. The goal was to no longer be a tenant of its offices is why it has embarked on a spate of acquisitions leading to the purchase of several buildings.
At the beginning of the millennium, construction was also at the heart of this new policy with the recent construction of the Sciences Complex and the Ilôt Voyageur, a vast complex that will soon include a tower 15 floors of offices and residences for students. The goal will be achieved with regard to the leased area. With this latest project, the university would find itself even with a extra space that will be rent to other institution.
