Most public libraries in Montreal are located in buildings with a very interesting architecture. Whether they are in historical buildings that served as city hall or church or in a new complex made contemporary style, most of the buildings housing a public library in Montreal are realy interesting inside and outsite.
With the merger of several suburb cities, the public library network has expanded considerably. We have tried wherever possible to include them on this site, even if it'S more difficult to find information on these historic buildings.
Here is an incomplete list of libraries in the city of Montreal and the buildings that already hosted one as the former Central Library replaced by the Grande Bibliothèque or the former Notre-Dame Library.
