| Honorable Joseph Bourret was the third president of the Savings Bank of the city district of Montreal in succession of Alfred Larocque. In addition to this position he held other positions like Recorder of the City of Montreal, after several years as chief magistrate. He was called to the Upper House by Lord Elgin in 1849, a position he held until his death.
He was also president of the Societe Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montreal in 1848-49. |
