The original building had two floors less. This is the third successive building occupied by the engineering school. Now the Polytechnic of Montreal is affiliated with the University of Montreal and is incorporated into its mountain‘s campus.

Polytechnic of Montreal was founded in 1878, Polytechnique Montreal today
With more then 6,000 students with 230 engineering professors, the school has become a very important institution for Montreal. The scholar institution awards near 900 degrees by year with an annual operating budget of $ 85 million and a research budget of 61 million.

Engineering school offers 11 programs in engineering and post graduate degrees are teaches in 15 disciplines. The school holds 15 industrial research center and 24 Canada Research center. Source: www.polymtl.ca
